Emily Van Eck Nutrition & Wellness
I specialize in eating disorder recovery, body image healing, and women’s health using a weight-neutral, Health At Every Size (HAES) approach. My practice centers on helping individuals break free from diet culture, heal their relationship with food, and reconnect with their body.
I provide compassionate, trauma-informed nutrition therapy for binge eating disorder, chronic dieting recovery, and eating disorders across the spectrum. My approach integrates evidence-based nutrition science with body liberation principles, recognizing that sustainable healing happens through building trust with your body rather than imposing external rules.
I work particularly with women navigating hormonal transitions—PCOS, fertility challenges, postpartum, and perimenopause—who need nutrition support that honors both their health goals and their need for food freedom. Sessions focus on practical skills for attuned eating, body respect practices, and addressing the intersection of eating disorders with women’s health conditions.
My philosophy is rooted in the understanding that you are the expert on your own body. My role is to provide guidance, support, and education while you reclaim your relationship with food and learn to trust yourself again.

Health At Every Size (HAES): Weight-neutral approach recognizing that health and wellbeing are accessible at every body size, focusing on health behaviors rather than weight outcomes.
Trauma-Informed Care: Understanding how diet culture, weight stigma, and food restriction create trauma responses, using approaches that prioritize safety, choice, and empowerment.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills: Incorporating distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and mindfulness skills specifically adapted for eating disorder recovery.
Somatic Approaches: Body-based interventions that help clients reconnect with internal cues, sensations, and wisdom after disconnection from dieting and eating disorders.
