Registered Dietitian Nutritionist
Sparkman Nutrition Counseling
The University of Texas at Austin
Carly Reed received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition from the University of Texas at Austin and completed her dietetic internship requirements through the Coordinated Program in Dietetics at UT. In addition to her degree, she also earned a Business Foundations Certificate. The Coordinated Program in Dietetics provided supervised practice experience in areas including clinical practice, foodservice management, administrative nutrition, corporate wellness, eating disorder treatment, pediatric nutrition, and community dietetics.
Carly first became interested in the field of Dietetics after seeing the effects that diet and lifestyle had on her family members. After taking a class on Nutrition Through the Lifecycle, and seeing the role that nutrition can play at all stages of life, she knew she had chosen the right path. Carly believes that good nutrition should be accessible to everyone and that eating a variety of real food, and listening to our bodies’ hunger and fullness cues are the keys to success. From her work at Capital Area Food Bank, UT’s Eating from the Garden Program, Houston Texans TwEat Healthy Research Program, Dell Children’s Medical Center Healthy Living, Happy Living Program, and as President of Texas Nutrition, Carly’s commitment to nutrition is as evident as her passion for helping.
As a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, Carly looks forward to working with clients to improve their health through diet and behavior modifications.
