Presenter: Sarah Griesemer, Ph.D.

Presenter Bio: Dr. Sarah Griesemer is a licensed psychologist who runs Psychology Center of Austin, PLLC, and the owner of the co-working space Launch Wellness.  Dr. Griesemer offers psychodynamic therapy for adults as well as collaborative psychological assessments to help individuals better understand their stuck places.  She is a consultant to parents and professionals on PANDAS (Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Strep, sometimes referred to as Autoimmune Encephalitis), a disorder gaining more awareness that affects children through adulthood.

Topic: PANDAS and anorexia

Objectives:

At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

– Describe the biological mechanism for PANDAS

– Llist symptoms associated with PANDAS

– Explain how PANDAS can be diagnosed

– Describe how anorexia presents in PANDAS patients both in symptomtology as well as neurological triggers

– Create a treatment plan for an individual presenting with anorexia related to PANDAS
